As the industry enjoys a well-earned slow down this Easter, we wanted to share a reflection from last week’s RISE Leadership Action 2025 — a powerful two-day event where 150 industry leaders didn’t just talk about change… they leaned all the way in.
We dug into what really drives high-performing teams — not just strategy or GCI, but trust, emotional intelligence, psychological safety and belonging.
And we didn’t shy away from the tough stuff either — like how to lead through the cortisol-fuelled chaos that so often defines today’s market.
One thing was clear: leadership and wellness are no longer separate conversations. Our industry’s future depends not just on what’s happening in the market, but on the wellbeing of the people within it.
In his opening remarks, RISE Chair Nick West shared some sobering truths:
- 47% of the industry feels under pressure
- 60% are considering leaving
- 35% are already experiencing burnout
- And just 1 in 5 of us are truly thriving
That’s not just a statistic — that’s a call to action.
As leaders, it’s on us to make sure our people have real, accessible support.
